Carl Brower, Chairman
Carl Brower has served as a Board member for Kuukpik Corporation since 1995. Carl is the Chairman of the Parent Board of Directors of Kuukpik Corporation. Carl previously held titles in Kuukpik as a Kuukpik Board Member and a member of the Kuukpik Finance Committee. Carl also serves the community as a whaling captain and president of the Nuiqsut Whaling Captains’ Association, as well as a Councilman for the City of Nuiqsut City Council.
Joe Nukapigak, President
Joe Nukapigak is currently involved with Kuukpik management as the Corporate President of the Parent Board of Directors. Joe serves on the Finance and Design Committees. He’s involved with the Kuukpik Subsistence Oversight Panel as a subsistence representative for Kuukpik. Joe is active in the traditional harvest of the bowhead whale, as well as other traditional harvests that are critical to the Inupiat way of life.

Leonard Lampe Sr., Secretary
Leonard Lampe Sr. has served on the corporation as a board member since 1990. Leonard is currently involved with Kuukpik as an Executive Special Assistant, Corporate Secretary. Leonard serves on the Finance, Design, Heir-Ship, and After-born Committes and he is the Kuukpikmiut Foundation President.
Isaac Nukapigak, Treasurer
Isaac Nukapigak has served on the Parent Board of Directors since 1989 to 2016. Isaac is a Finance and Afterborn Committee member. Isaac assisted in the establishment of Kuukpikmiut Foundation, Kuukpik Transportation, Nuiqsut Utility Co-Op and Nanuq, Inc. Isaac also serves the community as a whaling captain and served on the board of the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission for over a decade.
Gordon Brown II
Gordon Brown II has served the corporation as a Parent Board of Director since 1999. Gordon currently is involved in the Nanuq, Inc., as a board member, Parent Board of Directors and a Finance Committee Member.
George was elected June 2018 as a Kuukpik Board of Director.
Eli Nukapigak is the son of Edward and Ruth Nukapigak. Eli resides in Nuiqsut. He went attended Chemawa Indian School in Oregon. He worked for NANUQ on Ice Road Projects. Eli was a Whaling Commissioner Member for 7 years. He also served on the North Slope Borough (NSB) Planning Commission and NSB Wildlife.
